Back in 1928 Cecil Finch bought two plots of land in the Cotswold village of Chedworth; Woodlands Farm to the west and Denfurlong Farm to the east. With the help of his wife they settled into a life of farming. In 1931 they had a little boy Nigel.
It was during this time that many girls were joining the Land Army. One of these girls was Barbara Goodson. Born in Teddington, west London, she moved to the Cotswolds to help out on a farm in Chedworth. Whilst she was there she met the farmers' son Nigel and the rest, as they say, is history.
Fast Forward 50 odd years and both Nigel and Barbara are still living at Woodlands and the dairy farm is still going strong.
